The BCIA is hiring a social media and marketing manger

Are you a freelance social media manager? Are you familiar with babywearing, or are you a fast learner who can quickly absorb knowledge about new topics? Do you enjoy crafting content that showcases the unique voice of the brands you work with? 

The Baby Carrier Industry Alliance is seeking a social media manager to implement our social marketing strategy, grow our audiences on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and maintain a regular posting schedule.

The role includes creating platform-specific content, generating/gathering user content, and engaging across platforms. The ideal candidate has a good eye for trends. 

The social media and marketing manager is not responsible for generating or analyzing data, but should have the ability to implement data-driven strategies and feedback.  

Required skills: 

  • Campaign and content calendar management
  • Copywriting –  create engaging social content, including microblogging, graphic text, posts, etc. 
  • Graphic design – create on-brand graphic and video content that is relevant and engaging
  • Engagement – respond to comments and engage with users in an authentic way that mirrors the BCIA brand voice
  • Collaboration – work closely with the Executive Director to align social media strategy with the overall strategic and marketing strategy of the organization and also engage with members to create social media and campaign partnerships
  • Language — fluency in English

Commitment

The social media manager position is approximately 8-10 hours each week at a rate of $20 USD/hourly. This includes content creation, engagment, social listening, and regular meetings to align with the BCIA team.
